A forecast by the Insurance Information Institute predicts the cost of auto insurance will drop by 0.5% in 2007, the first decline since 1999. The group based its forecast on recent auto claims and the national report of auto insurance rates released last week by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. The decrease in the number of auto accidents is driving rates lower.
