📢 Our HUNGER DOESN'T TAKE A VACATION campaign is well underway and we DESPERATELY need to collect 50,000 pounds of non-perishable donations by August 1st to reach our goal. To date, we are at only 12% of our goal.

Each summer, we find it harder and harder to reach our donation goals as our need continues to increase exponentially but unfortunately our donations don't. Through the end of May (this year), we've seen a 42% increase in the number of households served over this same time last year while only seeing a 3% increase in our donations. Weekly, we are spending at least $3300 on items needed for our weekly distribution.

Please please consider taking a look at our most needed items on our website and contributing. We have lots of amazing partnerships with businesses all around town that will accept donations on our behalf if you can't get by during our open hours.
If you’d like to participate, consider hosting Food Drive, or just encourage your friends to bring donations to your next gathering! It will truly take a village for us to pull this off! 🙌

The Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce’s Glass Ceiling Award is a testament to women who have not only dared to dream but have also taken bold steps to turn those dreams into reality. It recognizes a woman who has worked in a male-dominated industry, who has faced obstacles with resilience, and who has shattered barriers with her determination.

Kendra Parrish’s journey is one of inspiration and relentless pursuit of excellence. Earning her M.A. in Public Administration from Villanova, Kendra laid the academic foundation that would propel her into a distinguished career. For 22 years, she has been a vital part of the town of Holly Springs, starting as a senior engineer and rising to the position of executive director of utilities & infrastructure. Her journey is a powerful example of how dedication, skill, and a commitment to public service can transform a community.

In a field where women are often underrepresented, Kendra has not only made her mark but has set a new standard of excellence. Her leadership has been instrumental in managing the town's infrastructure growth. The water and sewer expansions that have taken place under her guidance are a testament to her vision and expertise. Holly Springs is a stronger, more resilient community because of her efforts.

In 2017, the Professional Engineers of North Carolina named Kendra Engineer of the Year. This award speaks volumes about her dedication to her profession and her peers' respect for her work. This accolade is not just an individual honor but a reflection of the positive impact she has had on our town and the engineering community.

Moreover, Kendra’s work with CAMPO to secure funds for major projects in Holly Springs demonstrates her ability to navigate complex systems and advocate effectively for Holly Springs. These projects are not just about infrastructure; they are about creating a better future for all of us. They are about ensuring that Holly Springs continues to grow and thrive, meeting the needs of today and the challenges of tomorrow.

Kendra Parrish is a trailblazer, a leader, and a role model. She has demonstrated that true leadership is about service, vision, and the courage to forge new paths.

As we honor Kendra, let us also be reminded of the many women who are breaking barriers and making significant contributions in their fields. Let us celebrate their achievements and continue to support and encourage their efforts.

Kendra, your journey is a beacon of inspiration. Your contributions have not only shaped our town’s infrastructure but have also paved the way for future generations of women in engineering and public service. On behalf of the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce and the entire community, congratulations.

Ms. Lucero and Ms. Breneman bring so much added value to our school! Their dedication and love for their students elevates everyone they work with! Their lessons are thoughtfully planned with the highest levels of engagement embedded. They individualize their lessons to meet their students where they are, and they celebrate their students' success. Both of them engage our families in the learning process and are strong advocates for their students. We are all better because Ms. Lucero and Ms. Breneman are teachers at our school!

🌟 Shop Local, Support Local 🌟

Did you know that shopping locally has a huge impact on our community? For every $100 spent at a local business, about $68 stays within our community, compared to only $43 when we shop at non-local businesses.

When we choose to shop local, we're not just buying products; we're investing in our friends, neighbors, and the heart of our town. This means more local jobs, better community services, and a vibrant local culture that we can all be proud of.

Support local businesses, and let's keep our community thriving and full of life. 🏡❤️ #shoplocal #supportlocal #communityfirst
